Kyle Duke Wins 9th Annual Race Car Show
    
at West Plains Motor Speedway

West Plains, MO. -
Sunny skies and cool temperatures greeted racers and crews as they unloaded their race cars at the annual Race Car Show at the West Plains Wal-Mart SuperCenter on Saturday morning, March 22.

Kyle Duke of West Plains won first place when his voting boxes were tallied. Duke scored 29,137 votes in the penny per vote competition. Duke will be competiting in the Youth Hobby division.

Second place went to Logan Martin of West Plains, who displayed his #8 Mini-Sprint. Martin scored 10,246 votes and he races regularly at I-30 in Little Rock, AR., with an exhibition event planned for this season at West Plains Motor Speedway.

Brian Judd of Caulfield, MO, came in third with a total of 9,993 votes. Judd displayed his #10 IMCA Modified.
All drivers displaying received a trophy courtesy of Coca-Cola and O'Reilly Auto Parts. Just over $600 was collected and will be sent to St. Jude Childrens Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Following the Race Car Show the track hosted the last open track practice session before points races begin on Saturday, March 29

Saturday, March 29 will be the first points race of the 2008 season and will be sponsored by Barlow Expedited Service of Thayer, MO. Gates will open at 5 p.m., hotlaps at 6:30 with racing at 7 p.m. There are no changes in admission this season, adults $8, senior citizens $5, kids 7-11 $2 and those 6 and under are always free. West Plains Motor Speedway is located 6 miles south of West Plains on US Hwy. 63.

Lots of shiny new cars with new color schemes and sponsors were shown at this event.
 
Registering drivers and counting votes, presenting trophies
Ginger Gibson and Savannah Sutton were on hand to register drivers and hand out voting boxes, and Savannah presented trophies at the track after totals were established.
